New Orleans-bred rapper Markel releases today his new emotional single ‘Can’t Stop’.

On the single Markel said, “I did the first verse and hook of this record the day after I found out my brother was coming home. The feeling of knowing I had a big brother to lean on filled me with strength, which is why I compare myself to some of the greats of my city in the hook,”

“I wrote the second verse after the video went viral. That verse was very emotional for me because the world welcomed my brother home. I still can’t believe it. I hope these guys in the streets can hear and understand the pain that takes place when they are in the streets and making decisions that not only affect their life, but their whole family’s life,” he said.

The introspective song follows the viral video that captured Markel seeing his newly freed brother for the first time after he was released from prison.

The video went viral all over the internet with millions of views and support from Markel’s fans. The Buckroll-produced song, which addresses the touching reunion with his brother.
