Soul Songstress Wallace Returns With New Single 'Pantone Home'
Sydney based songstress Wallace is back with her second offering for 2018 with a delicate new one entitled ‘Pantone Home’, along with a run of shows in Australia and New Zealand.
Her second collaboration with fellow Australian musician Danny Barwick, "Pantone Home" carries all of Wallace's intricate, refreshing storytelling that you have come to expect from her precious offerings, while proving her incredible versatility as a collaborator, working with everyone from Dutch producer duo Kraak & Smaak, Australian hip-hop staples Thundamentals, and Sampa The Great producer Adventures of Godriguez,
On the single, Wallace says, "I fell in love instantly with the beautiful sampling of pianist Colin Hopkins, I'm not quite sure why but it made me think of home. I didn't find out till after I'd finished all the lyrics that Colin is an architect by day. Was meant to be.
”Pantone Home is essentially a walk through, the duck egg blue house I grew up in. I've clearly inherited my mum's obsession with colour, my folks home is literally a rainbow and I wouldn't have it any other way. I'm lucky enough to have been back to Wellington a lot more this year but I still miss it all the time so this one goes out to mum, dad and our little blue house on the hill. Everything in the song is 100% true. Our lounge is in fact painted the most bad ass mustardy/ limey yellow, we watch the telly a bright red art deco lounge suite, eat dinner on Crown Lynn plates in every pastel shade (one of the famous swans lives in our bathroom too) and try not to touch the exposed pink bates in the walls (sorry dad, I know you'll finish renovations one day)".
