ShunGu Teams Up Pink Siifu On 'Pick Up The Phone'

Hailing from Brussels, producer ShunGu has been dropping cosmic sounding beats since 2012, with an extensive back catalogue of thirty beat tapes on  bandcamp.  ShunGu released his latest offering, ‘Pick Up The Phone’ featuring L.A. based rapper Pink Siifu.

‘Pick Up The Phone’ follows up ‘Don’t Really Know’, the first single to drop from the album at the end of 2018. Throughout ‘A Black Market’, the production is a fluid representation of ShunGu’s soulful and experimental sound, transcending beats full in flavour and exploding with jazz fusion samples, experimental hip hop and funk. Recorded in his home-studio in Brussels, further guests include South London’s MA.MAYO, whose rich spoken word tones bless ‘Touch By Sun’, while Oakland rapper Spote Breeze flows through the chilled funk grooves of ‘Drop Knowledge’.
 
Known for his unique sampling techniques using his MPC 2000XL, producing has seen him travel the world, New York, London, Moscow, Lisbon, Montreal to name a few, collaborating with the likes of Rejjie Snow, Ivan Ave and Chester Watson on the his journeys.

Shungu is back on earth after his "Exile dreams" in the astral worlds. On his journey to travel beyond new horizons, lost In the middle of eternity, a new sunlight appeared through the darkness of humanity. Finding victory in defeat, he rebuilt his spaceship. Far away, further than we can hear, he's been working on different frequencies. The beginning of the end of something. Inspired by the work of Gods, Shungu mastered his perspective of music, elevating the symbol of eternity above all else. The new quest is just starting.
