Sha Davis releases a silky smooth RnB single ‘A Vibe’ ahead of her album ‘Songs I Wrote When You Left’ due to drop 13 March.

Houston-based Sha Davis produces vibey neo R&B, tied to the tradition of Dinah Washington and Nina Simone, while pushing the genre forward into the realm of soul torchbearers such as Solange and Kelela.

A classically trained vocalist who has toured with All-Star operatic groups for the majority of her career, Davis has shared the stage with Princess Nokia and Tobe Nwigwe, forging her own sound under the guidance of industry luminaries.

She dropped her first full album, Heartbreak, in 2012, and began performing hundreds of shows around the US with her 5-piece-band Sha Davis & The 1990’s, securing spots on open festivals and mini college tours. This was all accomplished while Davis held down a demanding day job in the tech industry. Her current passion lies in converting a military base into a zero carbon emissions village.

Sha’s new album, ‘Songs I Wrote When You Left,’ is her most personal to date, exploring the unresolved grief of an intense breakup. “I’m obsessed with hearing other people’s opinion on love and their experiences with heartbreak,” she reflects, noting that the album is not just a personal memoranda. “It’s really about how we spend our time here, how we heal ourselves, our relationships and the earth.”

A party vibe.
