Sam Era Releases Comtemporary R&B Album 'Songs For The Broken Heart'
R&B/pop singer Sam Era has released her full-length debut ‘Songs For The Broken Heart.’ This release is the culmination of a journey that has been many years in the making for Sam.
After a cover of Beyonce’s ‘Crazy in Love’ racked up huge support on Tumblr, Sam was invited to a Polydor Records showcase in San Francisco. Sam was so inspired by the showcase that she immediately began actively pursuing her career and put her grad school studies to the side.
Armed with a laptop, Garageband, and pen and paper, Sam got to work developing her own unique sound. She fuses her backgrounds in opera and jazz to create emotion filled melodies and taps into her darkest of hearts to share stories of love and loves lost. Meeting producer Devon Hancock was a leap forward in Sam’s career. The quickly realised they were a match made in musical heaven and furiously began dishing out tracks.
On ‘Songs For The Broken Heart,’ Sam Era has painted an encompassing picture of her contemporary R&B vision.
This is smooth, carefully polished music with lyrics that not only detail the hard times, but also the positives gained from them. A believer in female empowerment and finding self-worth, Sam wants to not only help listeners through the rough times, but bring them out the other side stronger and more confident in themselves, as she was able to do. Songs For The Broken Heart is a coming of age moment for Sam, examining the ups and downs of past relationships.
