Panax Releases Nw EP 'Look'
The honest MC, Panax, is back with his independently released debut 13 track LP, Look. Retaining his penchant for complex wordplay and raw emotionality, Look offers listeners a window into the mind of a flawed human being hacking a sketchy path through life’s happiest of highs and harrowing of hardships.
Following up on 2016s Eleanora EP and 2017s Sheer EP, Look sees Panax again shaping his story over the celestial instrumentals of long-time collaborator AstroLogical (of Potatohead People [Phife Dawg, Illa J, Posdnuos]). Rounded out with potent production from Jake Milliner (Hawk House, Zilo, T3) and Self Serve (Jay Worthy, Guilty Simpson), and with impactful features from Moka Only (formerly of Swollen Members), Anonymouz, and Larisa Marie (of NADUH), Look traverses from topics of floaty fellowship – like the LPs first single Gifted – to the trenches of trepidation and loneliness – like the Jake Milliner produced Sum 4. Many claim this project to be the locally lauded MCs best work to date.
A weighty hip hop album that cannot be missed if you are a fan of authentic emceeing over supreme production, Look is about living, learning, loving, and growing. It’s about understanding and appreciating the flaws of others and yourself. It’s about doing your best every day, whatever that means. Look has no answers, only one man’s real and raw perspective on life.
