Sydney Rapper Morus Shines A Light On The Truth With Politically Charged Single ‘Triggered’
No stranger to rusting feathers with his music, rapper Morus returns with a politically charge single ‘Triggered’ accompanied by enthralling visuals.
Hailing from the Northern Beaches of Sydney, Morus’ new single ‘Triggered’ came up firstly as a social experiment. Morus was interested to see exactly how much outrage he could generate with some tongue-in-cheek humour which wasn't directly attacking one side of the political spectrum more than the other. This can be seen in the opening of the video with his Donald Trump mask.
On the single, Morus said, “The single is more about aggravating both sides to argue amongst themselves as I attempted to make some valid points about the direction I see society heading and shine light on what I deem as "truth" in an intentionally inflammatory manner, but with also with such a balanced perspective as to make it less likely to have my opinion discounted as simply political rallying,”
The rapper wants the audience to take away political correctness in the beginning to stifle discussion amongst people as certain subjects or opinions become taboo to talk about. This Morus believes can lead us down a rabbit hole of censorship to a point of no return.
Opening up for Chris Webby earlier this year, Morus really hit the ground running in 2016 with his witty lyricism and dynamic rhyming techniques.
With 5 years of honing his craft under his belt, Morus hit the studio and released his debut EP "S.I.N. (Silence Is Necessary),” which garnered him a very positive reception within the underground hip hop scene This was showcased on his politically driven single ‘New Breed’ featuring Priceless, One half of the well regarded Underground rap duo Aqualeo.
Morus also opened the doors with his music label, Psychosis Audio. Which he hopes to build into a platform to bring opportunities and exposure to like-minded artists among the scene, as well as a vehicle for expanding his fast-growing fan base.
Currently, Morus is growing fan base and working on his upcoming follow-up EP "DreaM Time" which is slated for release in December this year.
