Premiere: Melbourne Collective Local To Local Single ‘Move’
Melbourne based collective Local To Local is gearing up to release their debut mixtape 'Day One' and we're excited to premiere their first single off the mixtape single 'Move' ahead of the release tomorrow.
Returning after 9-months off releasing music and coming out of an international support slot for multiplatinum crew Cali Swag District, Local To Local unveil their debut mixtape Day One distributed under the alias of DJ Marco and coming out through Midnight.
The group of 4 artists – LARKS, Anbar, Lotus & Kiid Koda – led and directed by DJ Marco, meticulously pieced together 12-solo tracks infused with crew-collaborations to present an eclectic collection of music ranging from soul & R&B, to club & trap.
Hailed out of the south-eastern suburbs of Melbourne, Local To Local were born from DJ Marco’s idea that local talent needed to be represented to a broader market. 12-months after their inception and the crew has created a mixtape, supported two international artists OVO & Cali Swag District and had each member perform solo shows at Electric Dreams in Club Co. Crown.
The Day One project presents 3-solo tracks from each artist to be released one-by-one, week-by-week from Sep 7th all the way through to Nov 23rd. Produced by Jase Beathedz (Nubreed Records, Obese Records, Nuffsaid Records) as well as up-and-coming producers Top Shelf, Day One aims to breach the old style of hip-hop with the new, creating an unfamiliar sound to the Victorian hip-hop scene and being more comparable to the Sydney-based Manu Crooks & Anfa Rose movement.
Bursting out the gates with the first single ‘Move’ is Anbar featuring Kiid Koda. The fast paced energetic single follows up from the duo’s previous collaboration with their breakout single Go Hard. ‘Move’ not only capitalises on the duos rapid-fire lyricism and chemistry, but the driving production of Jase Beathedz that creates a bouncy atmosphere tailored for the club or your next party. With another 11-tracks to come for the project this year, Local To Local are definitely one to keep your eyes on.
