LION BABE Release New Single Feat Raekwon 'Western World'
Hot on the heels of creating some serious waves in 2018 with their recent singles ‘Honey Dew’ and ‘The Wave’ featuring Leikeli47 – and its must-see, psychedelic visual which was released last month.
New York based duo LION BABE (comprised of singer-songwriter Jillian Hervey and producer Lucas Goodman) have released their brand new single ‘Western World’ ft Raekwon.
Premiered on Ebro’s Beats 1 show and featuring a sample of the Pet Shop Boys’ iconic anthem ‘West End Girls’ along with a killer verse from Wu-Tang Clan’s Raekwon, the new single is set to see the band causing even more ripples on the music scene ahead of the release of their recently announced and much-anticipated new album Cosmic Wind (out March 29th).
Speaking on the new single, LION BABE said:
“’Western World’ is a New York record inspired by the Pet Shop Boys and their classic hit ‘West End Girls’. It’s about the current climate of our American culture and soul. We’re honoured to have Raekwon help paint this wild picture of the present.”
Cosmic Wind is the follow up to LION BABE’s 2016 critically-acclaimed debut album Begin and follows a successful 2018 for the band, earmarked by live performances at Coachella's main stage, and AFROPUNK festival. They ended the year with two reimagined covers for Carly Simon's classic ‘Why’ and Little Beaver's ‘Get Into The Party Life’ which has amassed over 1.2 million streams onSpotify and just last week was further brought to life with the release of a brand new, retro-inspired visual. With a constant presence across New York’s bubbling arts & culture and fashion scene, last month saw Jillian take to the runway to walk for The Blonds’ New York Fashion Week show alongside the likes of Lil’ Kim, Paris Hilton and RuPaul Drag Race’s Aquaria.
Already starting the year off with some major heat and with the imminent release of their new album, LION BABE are well on their way to making sure that 2019 is all theirs.
