Boston Native Latrell James Shines On 'Still' EP
Boston native and celebrated producer-turned-rapper Latrell James has dropped ‘Still’, the EP we’ve all been waiting for - a self-written, self-engineered and self-produced body of excellence.
Following his debut project ‘Twelve’, Latrell James has become internationally recognised for his artistic character, honest songwriting and versatile production skills, working with a wide range of well-known talent including J.I.D, Lil Dicky, Cousin Stizz, Khary, Michael Christmas, Pro Era's Aaron Rose and most recently being featured on J.Cole’s Dreamville compilation tape ‘Revenge Of The Dreamers |||’.
Following on from his first release of the year ‘Tracphone’ which was affectionately dubbed by Afropunk as ‘an intellectual banger’, James continued in the same vein with most recent track ‘One Call’. The single dives into the realism of mortality over a bouncy melody, encouraging listeners to check in on their friends in times of need. A strong work ethic, exceptional production skills and a genuine consideration for the growth of the
Boston Hip Hop scene has made him one of the most respected artists in the game and James’ original, authentic sound as well as positive mentality shows solid signs of a promising future.
Speaking on the EP, Latrell States: ‘Still is about embracing stillness. With how much we spend on our phones and the internet we tend to miss everything that’s going on right in front of us. Still is being grateful but wanting more.”
