RnB Crooner Laolu Releases 'Indulge'
South East London’s Laolu creates music which is intrinsically human at its core. Following the release of her debut EP All In Me in 2018, the RnB artist returns with her sensual late night groove “Indulge”.
Filled with stuttering drum patterns and silky smooth vocals, “Indulge” articulates lust and desire with refreshing honesty. “It’s about having a relationship with someone that is almost forbidden.
You know the person is no good but you are craving them because of how they make you feel when you’re together” Laolu explains.
“For me it’s about letting go of my inhibitions and just allowing myself to delve into what I want with who I want, stepping into my womanhood and my sensual side”.
Using music as a form of spiritual healing, Laolu took a break from her craft in 2015 to focus on her mental health - a 3 year hiatus which served as a career defining moment for the young artist.
Finding inspiration from her darkest moments, Laolu formed a kinship with music at just twelve years old which grew and blossomed into her adult years. Born to Nigerian parents, Laolu began writing her own music after graduating in Commercial Music Performance, leading to performances at Indigo O2 and Somerset House as well as supporting the likes of Ghetts, Miss Dynamite and Chip.
