Kash Doll releases her new mini movie visual for 'Hustla'
Detroit rapper and hip-hop starlet Kash Doll releases her new mini movie visual for ‘Hustla’ today.
The video chronicles the story of Kelly, a character who is inspired by women Kash Doll met during her days working in the clubs. “Hustla” shows the intense hustle Kelly embodies to survive the difficult environment she is a part of, serving as a warning to young girls to be careful. The video is the first part of a series of mini movies to come that Kash Doll hopes will help lend a voice to women whose stories remain untold.
“‘Kelly Chronicles’ is a story based on things I’ve seen in the real world strip club life, although thankfully it’s not my own experience. I wanted to show girls that it’s not all glitz and glamour. Sometimes women sacrifice their peace of mind, dignity and most importantly self-worth,” says Kash Doll on the mini movie. “‘Kelly Chronicles’ will be an ongoing story. As a former dancer, I used to be in that world, and I want girls to know it’s not just what you see on social media. There are stories of missing girls with cases still open because of situations like these. With this mini movie series, I’m speaking on situations that come from living that lifestyle. There is a lot of peer pressure and you can easily get led in the wrong direction. I want to give these women a voice, and make sure these stories and cautionary tales are told.”
Detroit native Kash Doll has impacted the music industry with a commanding force, dropping street-earned truths with her throwback wordplay and powerful bars. The one-two combination of spirit and sass announced her as fiery female force in 2019 after quietly amassing 30 million-plus on-demand streams.
