Blacksmith returns with a soulful summer message of ‘Peace’
Blacksmith returns with a soulful summer message of ‘Peace’, taken from forthcoming album ‘Through the Melody’, and has brought in some heavyweights from the U.K and America to help deliver a real message.
Self produced by Blacksmith, ‘Peace’ features members from two of the most iconic Hip Hop groups to come out of Los Angeles, Rakaa of Dilated Peoples and Marc 7 of Jurassic 5 - their first time together on a record. He’s also brought in Knytro, known by many for his arena tours with Chase & Status and ‘Project Harpoon’ mixtape, and from Bristol the AFT Records head honcho Carasel.
Hailing from Bristol, Blackmith has managed to corner the Hip Hop scene with his productions and lyricism, building an incredible network that has resulted in him being one of the most connected UK Hip-Hop figures. He has performed throughout the UK & Europe supporting artists including Jurassic 5, Dilated Peoples, Evidence, Common, Mos Def, Brother Ali, Plan B, and various others. As a Producer he has worked with Carasel, Knytro, Marc 7 (Jurassic 5), MC Supernatural, Stamina MC, Rakaa, Klashnekoff, Kners, Dynamite MC and many more too.
The video was shot across Bristol and Los Angeles with Blacksmith travelling out to film on location with Rakaa & Marc and the song has each artist representing what ‘Peace’ means to them, whether that’s politics and protests on home soil or gang warfare and injustices across the pond - a real message of peace and unity is delivered throughout.
The video also features over 100 appearances filmed worldwide of people coming together to throw up peace signs for the project including the likes of Romesh Ranganthan, JME, Klashnekoff and many more.
