AR Base’s latest single “When You Loved,” is out for release as a follow up to ‘Praise Him Anyway’.

Reminiscing on fond memories and intimate times shared after being saved, AR Base wrote “When You Loved.” Thinking about how much time he used to put into praying and studying the word in his early years, left AR considering what God must be saying when the hard times hit.

Thus, the song was birthed as a heartfelt reminder that our first love longs to hear from us, spend time with us, and be there for us through every trial. It’s a love letter from the eye of God, where AR Base describes how he sees life can be better no matter the circumstance, if we stay intimately connected to Him.

Joining forces with Christian hip hop producer Poetics, whose works with Wande, Derek Minor, and KB showcase his talents, AR Base’s new song “When You Loved” forms an explosion of enticing genres. Mixing elements of lo-fi sad vibes with R&B and hip hop, the song’s contemplative mood will leave you hitting repeat.

Influenced by living in Inglewood, California during his early adult years, AR developed his ministry’s vision through his love for music. Signed to Gee Ray Records in 2006, and also having the privilege of singing behind legends such as Stevie Wonder and Patti LaBelle, was an experience in his life that he is forever grateful for and will never forget. Learning behind the greats molded AR Base’s own musical stylings to combine his R&B roots with gospel, neo-soul, and hip hop influences.

With the release of ‘When You Loved’, AR Base reminds us that God’s heart longs for the days when we put him first. He reiterates that ‘Sometimes life throws at you sadness, gladness and madness all at the same time, but we must not let any of it take us away from the love of God’.
