We sit down with Tiana about pushing herself into the music industry, overcoming her fears and why it’s important to spread love.
You just released a single 'Breathe' could you tell us more about that?
My first single! I cant believe it! Well, it was a long process with my producer Jarrod Bain. I am 15-years-old so started singing at around the age of 10. I always loved music (singing) and dancing, those are my two favourite things to do. I’ve always had love and passion for it, so I feel like this is just the beginning of everything.
You are very young, how did you start singing?
I started dancing when I was 10-years-old in ballroom and singing with a coach. A couple years after that then met my mentor Siki Daha who has helped to push me to get my original music out there and give me a chance to perform.
Who are your influences?
My two main influences at the moment would be Christina Aguilera and Ariana Grande but love Aaliyah and Mariah Carey, Dua Lipa, Whitney Houston to name a few! Strong female singers!
You come from a family of different backgrounds, what's your favourite dish in each of them and why?
Yes, I am Italian, Peruvian and Russian. I’d say from my mum’s side steaks with carrots and my dad’s spaghetti carbonara.
What other projects are you working on?
I am working on my EP ‘Hooked on Love’, which will be released at the end of the year. Obviously you can tell it’s about love, love and more love (laughs). It also gives me the chance to show what I’ve got and releases all the power in me and show a story of coming through into a my teenage years.
What do you want people to take away from your music?
Well, I’m still learning a lot but if you put your mind to something you can do it, if there are opportunities go for it and don’t let anything or anyone stop you from doing something you love! Go for your dreams and believe in yourself! Eventually you will make it, don’t let anyone stop you from doing what you love!
What stimulates your soul?
Music, dance and my family!
