Strawberry Fields Festival Announces Another 64 Acts For Its 10 Year Anniversary
With just under three months to go, and 90% of tickets already sold out, Strawberry Fields is readying to throw it’s largest edition to date. Following the huge first announcement, organisers have released over 50 more local tastemakers & internationals to round out the lineup.
Leading the charge on the second line up is Melbourne’s first lady of soul, Miss Goldie with DJ Manchild who is set to bring the heaviest modern soul and disco cuts to the wildlands - no doubt this will a wild time!
Also hailing from Melbourne is musician, DJ and producer - SIMONA, who’s beat driven and emotionally textured techno-pop expresses the borderline space between euphoria, desolation and aggression - tied together by narratives of nonconformity, queer cities, gender and relationships. Her performances are cardio-electronic percussive events of shared catharsis and self-confrontation; a one-woman industrial rave delivered through drums, smoke haze and laser beams.
Next up is new kid on the block, Inga Mauer. Coming from St. Petersburg, Russia where she is a resident DJ in the famous club (Stackenschneider) she is now gaining attention in Europe. The music she serves up is a mix of blistering atmospheres and dark emotions, flirting with a wide range of genres like Industrial Techno, EBM, and New Wave.
Also on offer is the Snoop Dogg-Approved Sydney beat maker - MXXWLL. Hot off a killer remix of Snakehips’ and ZAYN’s “Cruel”, the Sydney based producer/remixer is fast becoming one of Australia's brightest future funk prospects. Showcasing effortlessly chilled out, funk-infused synth-led hip-hop instrumentals designed to move and groove, this is one of many sets not to be missed.
Also another little something to excited about is a loose dub theme vibe from Aussie producers Turner Street Sound - a duo made up of Rory McPike AKA Rings Around Saturn and Ryan Hunter AKA MidnightTenderness.
In addition, Strawberry Fields will welcome a series of showcases and takeovers to the wildlands to amp up the party! First up our friends at Resident Advisor will be hosting a legendary Sunday session for a second year running.
Next up there’s a showcase from community-based collective - Foreign Brothers who have progressively become a driving force within the local Melbourne music scene. Through the events they produce and promote, the collaborations they spark between creatives and the opportunity they offer to young, diverse emerging artists, they act as an essential platform for musicians. And one last notable showcase from local Melbourne act, The Rookies. Check out the full list of artists joining the bill below.
Final Round tickets are on sale now but they won’t last for long with a sold out event predicted within just a few weeks.
